Missionary Family from Indonesia: The Rev. Fungchatou Lo and his wife, Kalia Lo, are a direct support missionary family from Indonesia. The Emanuel Lutheran Laymen’s Group is one of the Lo family’s supporters.

Music Notes: The following music schedule will be effective from August 25 until Advent:
- 4:30 p.m.: Youth choir, grades 2-6
- 5 p.m.: "Victorious" youth handbells, grades 3-8
- 5:30 p.m.: "Celebration" handbells, high school students and adults
- 6:20 p.m.: "Joy" adult choir, high school students and adults
- 7:15 p.m.: "Rejoice" contemporary choir, high school students and adults

Fish Boil: Volunteer workers are needed for the Wisconsin fish boil dinner, scheduled for 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 12. Sign-up sheets are available in the back of the church. The dinner will be sponsored by South Dakota Orphan Grain Train, with supplemental funds given by Thrivent Chapter #30581.

Voters’ Meeting: A special voters’ meeting will be held between services on Sept. 12. The meeting is to clarify the recommendations to the church constitution, after it is reviewed and sent back to us by the South Dakota District of the LCMS. At least 50 members must attend this meeting.

New Membership Class: We are again offering a class for new members that covers the basic teachings of the Christian faith. The class is not only for people who want to join our church, but also for any current members who would like to review our teachings. The class will begin at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 26. Let the pastor know if you plan to attend or if this time doesn't work for you.

Attention Men of Emanuel: Would you like to study God's Word and spend time in Christian fellowship? The men's group at Emanuel would meet once a month at a day and time that works best for those interested. Call the church offices if you want to participate.

Thrivent Choice Dollars: Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is launching “Thrivent Choice”, a new charitable grant program and benefit of membership. “Choice Dollars” will be designated to some Thrivent members when the program begins this summer. Eligibility for directing Choice Dollars will be based on Thrivent product ownership and leadership involvement. Eligible members will be contacted through direct mailings. We ask Thrivent members to consider the Emanuel church and preschool as they help direct Thrivent’s charitable funds.

TV Broadcast of the 10:30 a.m. Service: Worship services at Emanuel will be broadcast over ITC Cable Channel 1. These will be weekly broadcasts of the previous Sunday’s late morning service, at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. each Tuesday. Customers of Midcontinent Communications may watch these same broadcasts each Monday at the same times on Channel 3.

Collecting Aluminum Tab Cans for Ronald McDonald House: The Tabitha Ladies Aid is collecting tabs from aluminum cans. The tabs are sent to the Ronald McDonald House in Sioux Falls, where the tabs are recycled for money to operate the house. The Ronald McDonald House is a temporary home for parents of young children hospitalized in Sioux Falls. The aid is also collecting bar codes from Our Family food products for Dakota Boys Ranch. The bar codes are exchanged for cash that is used to build up the ranch’s education department. Can tabs and bar codes may be left in the marked containers on the north counter in the church kitchen.

Elderly and Disabled Residents: The Visiting Neighbor Program is designed to help elderly and disabled residents in Grant County. Services include personal care and light housekeeping duties.
