Youth Ministry

 

Christian Preschool

Emanuel Lutheran Church sponsors and supports a Christian Preschool for children, ages three and four. Organized preschool activities help the children develop the basic skills for kindergarten. Daily activities include Bible story time, as well as singing and growth in the Christian faith. Jesus Christ is at the heart of every classroom activity. More detailed information is available in the Preschool Handbook, which is available from the church office. Additional information may also be obtained at the Emanuel Preschool website or by calling the Director/Teacher, Karen Tillma.

 

Weekly sessions offered:

  • 4 year olds:  Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday afternoons​

  • 3 year olds:  Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday mornings​

Sunday School

Our Sunday School program provides instruction in God’s Word to children Age 3 to 12th grade. ALL ARE WELCOME! Children learn fundamental lessons, study Bible history, and sing enlightening music. Parents are encouraged to bring their children to worship services and Sunday School on a regular basis to help them grown in faith. Together, we are “Preparing Disciples.”

 

Classes meet every Sunday from 10:15 – 11:15 a.m., starting the first Sunday after Labor Day through the third Sunday in May. A complete schedule can be found here.

There are several opportunities to find out more about what’s going on in the Sunday School through facebook, articles in our monthly newsletter, The Visitor, and weekly updates in the yellow bulletin; providing additional information about topics and passages that are being studied.

Wednesday Religion Classes

Religion classes for grades 5-8 lead to Confirmation. Classes are held each week when public school is in session.

Camp Minneboji

Offered annually at Spirit Lake in Iowa.

  • 4th to 9th grades

 

 

Adult Ministry

 

Adult Bible Classes
  • 10:15 a.m. Sundays

There may be other opportunities scheduled during the week. Times will be listed in the weekly bulletin and the monthly newsletter, The Visitor.

Ladies of Emanuel (LOE)

The LOE is part of the International Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML). Women of all ages meet for Bible study, fellowship and service. See the calendar in the newsletter for meeting times.

Tabitha Ladies’ Aid

Women's group meets monthly for Bible study, fellowship and service.

 

 

Music Ministry

 

There are several opportunities to praise the Lord through music, such as choir, solos, handbells, guitar, instruments, organ and piano. Most music groups rehearse on Wednesday evenings. Check the calendar in the newsletter for individual times or contact Kristy Tostenson for more information.

Membership Information Classes

Membership information classes are scheduled as needed throughout the year. Please contact the church office if interested.

Prayer Chain

We have two different Prayer Chains, telephone and email. If you would like to participate, contact the church office. If you are in need of prayers, a prayer request form is available here or can be obtained from the church office.

Be Ye Doers

All Emanuel members are assigned to one of the “Be Ye Doers” groups. Members of these groups serve as ushers and greeters, prepare the altar for services, host funeral dinners and wedding receptions, and perform other services as needed during their assigned months, once or twice each year.

Mission Sewing

This group meets monthly to sew and quilt for local donations, Lutheran World Relief and other charities. They group meets the first Thursday of each month at 8:30 a.m.

Orphan Grain Train

Orphan Grain Train is a hands-on, Christian, humanitarian aid and disaster relief organization built on a nationwide network of volunteers. Grain Train’s 18 regional branches collect, pack and ship donated clothing, relief supplies and humanitarian aid.

Ministering to the people of Grant County, SD with the mission to give glory to God through our Lord Jesus Christ to help those in need.
